2. Scope

Applies to all products stored and fulfilled by Scale 3PL.

3. Responsibilities

Client

  • ensure products have scannable barcodes where possible

  • ensure barcode numbers match the Mintsoft product record.

Scale 3PL

  • scan products during picking and stock handling when barcodes are present.

4. Procedure Steps

1. Barcode Types

Common barcode formats include:

  • EAN

  • UPC

  • Code 128.

Any standard retail barcode format is acceptable.

2. Barcode Placement

Barcodes should be:

  • clearly visible

  • printed directly on the product or packaging

  • not obscured by labels or tape.

3. Multiple Barcodes

If a product has multiple barcodes:

  • the correct barcode must be recorded in Mintsoft.

4. Products Without Barcodes

Products without barcodes can still be fulfilled.

The warehouse will identify items using:

  • SKU

  • product name

  • storage location.

However, barcodes are recommended to reduce errors.

5. Barcode Consistency

The barcode stored in Mintsoft must match the barcode printed on the product.

Incorrect barcodes may delay order processing.

5. Training Resources

Mintsoft product configuration guides are available in the client support portal.
