Client Supplied Packaging

1. Purpose

To explain how clients can provide their own packaging materials for use during order fulfilment.

2. Scope

Applies to all orders fulfilled by Scale 3PL where clients wish to use branded or custom packaging.

3. Responsibilities

Client

  • supply packaging materials to the warehouse

  • ensure packaging quantities are sufficient for expected order volume

  • notify Scale 3PL before sending packaging materials.

Scale 3PL

  • store client packaging materials

  • use the packaging materials when packing orders according to client instructions.

4. Procedure Steps

1. Send Packaging Materials

Clients may send packaging materials such as:

  • branded boxes

  • branded mailer bags

  • marketing inserts

  • promotional leaflets.

Packaging should be delivered to the warehouse using the standard inbound delivery process.

2. Create an ASN

If packaging materials are delivered separately from product stock, an ASN should be created in Mintsoft so the warehouse expects the delivery.

3. Packaging Storage

Packaging materials will be stored in the warehouse and allocated to the client account.

4. Order Packing

Warehouse staff will use client packaging materials when fulfilling orders.

If client packaging materials are unavailable, standard warehouse packaging may be used to avoid dispatch delays.
