Packaging Requirements for Inbound Stock

1. Purpose

To ensure products arrive at the warehouse safely and can be received efficiently.

2. Scope

Applies to all inbound deliveries sent to the Scale 3PL warehouse.

3. Responsibilities

Client

  • package goods securely

  • label cartons clearly

  • provide packing lists.

Scale 3PL

  • receive deliveries

  • check quantities

  • book stock into Mintsoft.

4. Procedure Steps

1. Carton Labelling

Each carton should clearly display:

  • client name

  • product SKU or name

  • quantity inside the carton.

This allows the warehouse to process goods efficiently.

2. Carton Packing

Cartons should:

  • be strong enough to support stacking

  • protect the product during transport

  • contain consistent quantities where possible.

3. Pallet Deliveries

Pallets must:

  • be securely wrapped

  • be stable for forklift handling

  • include a packing list.

4. Packing Lists

Each delivery must include a packing list showing:

  • product SKUs

  • quantities

  • number of cartons or pallets.

5. Damaged Goods

If goods arrive damaged during transport:

  • the issue will be reported to the client

  • stock may be placed in quarantine until instructions are received.

5. Additional Controls

Unlabelled cartons or missing packing lists may delay goods-in processing.
